Privacy Policy
How your information is handled when you visit this site or reach out to Ashley.
Clarity Through Therapy (“we,” “our,” or “Ashley Smith, LPC, CPCS”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information this website does and does not collect, how it’s used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- This website has no contact form and collects nothing directly. There is no form to fill in and no account to create. If you email or call using the details listed here, we receive whatever you choose to share — the same as any ordinary email or phone call.
- Booking happens elsewhere. Appointments are scheduled through Headway or Alma. When you book there, your information is collected and handled under their privacy policies, not this one. We’d encourage you to read them.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our host may log basic technical data such as your browser type and general location for security and performance. We do not use this to identify you personally.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and answer your questions.
- To schedule an appointment or consultation if you request one.
- To provide and coordinate counseling services if you become a client.
We will never sell your information.
Health information (HIPAA)
If you become a client, any protected health information (PHI) you share is handled in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). You will receive a separate Notice of Privacy Practices describing your rights and how your health information is used and protected. Please do not include sensitive clinical details in an unencrypted email — it isn’t a secure channel.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information you share. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent through the website.
When we may share information
We do not sell or rent your information. We may share it only when necessary to:
- Provide services through trusted vendors who help operate the practice (for example, scheduling or email providers), under appropriate agreements.
- Comply with the law, a court order, or a licensing board.
- Protect the safety of you or others, as permitted or required by law and professional ethics.
Cookies & analytics
This site uses minimal cookies needed to function. If website analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated to describe them and any choices available to you.
Your choices
- You can contact us by phone rather than email if you’d prefer not to put anything in writing.
- You may ask us what information we have about you and request that we correct or delete it, subject to any records we’re required to keep by law.
Children’s privacy
This website has no contact form and collects no information from anyone directly, including children. Any intake and consent paperwork happens through Headway or Alma, under their privacy policies rather than this one.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date below reflects the most recent version.
